Straight Shadows + False
Latticed Deck |
Sapling's Imprint |
The back deck of my front porch had been undergoing construction for some time. Without the creeping vines which are still growing below, the shadow leaves a nice crisscrossing lattice. I thought this would be a good picture as it has a relatively unique shape.
|
A sapling in my front yard, this is one of the few japanese maples that survived the winter. The shadow of this sapling would prove interesting and with some slight contrast and curve shifting, the picture would turn out well.

Matriarch's Shadow |
Iriseption |
This is the largest oak tree near my house, at midday the shadow it cast was atheistically appealing. I tweaked the curves and contrast to better create a difference between the shadow and the sun lot grass.
|
A cylindrical object that cast an interesting shadow when multiple light sources were shinned on it. The shadow fragmented creating a interesting conglomeration.
|
TeardropA river agate that was exposed to multiple light sconces at an angle. The resulting shadow creating was fragmented in the appealing shape of a teardrop.
|
Blotched LandMost of the trees in my backyard were cut down some time ago, the stumps are still hidden by the grass for the most part. During the afternoon the trees cast their shadows leaving a creeping swarm of darkness across the feeble lawn.

Agate's Reach |
Shattered Perception
|
Another picture of the river agate. This deep and foreboding shadow looks like a portal into the infinite nothingness that is my concrete porch. I increased the curves of the picture to show the fragmented overlaps of the shadow.
|
A crystal swan with a interesting shadow when exposed to light. I thought the shadow would be warped as the light passed through the crystal, but instead it fragmented around the head to create an interesting perception in the picture.

Added Shadows
Shadow's Watch
|
Screwed Plane |
Each tree had its own uniform shadow, I decided to alter one by adding a character from a television show as it would create an interesting photo. The levels and contrast were changed to smooth out the integration of the false shadow into the picture.
|
I took a picture of a screw. I then proceeded to integrate a planes shadow onto the screw. After I created a Pun to emphasize the photograph. With some editing of the curves, vibrance, and contrast the picture was complete.
